Linear Heat Detection for Industrial Use

Security issues directly affects the running of the whole plant in large industrial places. There are many electrical devices, such as cable trays, cable shafts, various kinds of transformers and oil tanks in the aforesaid places. It is very important to monitor the temperature of such devices and detects overheat to prevent fire.

Sensing Cable Installation

It is suggested to use sine-wave contact type when laying sensor cable on cable tray or cable bridge. Sensor cable should be fixed with special fixture to avoid mechanical damage caused by stress.The installation method as below figure.

Conveyor Belt

It is to monitor the temperature of conveyor belt and its ambient temperature. There are two options according to the on-site situation.

Plan A: If the width of conveyor belt is less than 0.4m, protect it with an equal length of sensor cable. Sensor cable should be fixed directly on the appendant right above the centre of  the conveyor belt less than 2.25m. The appendant can be a supporting wire or original fixture. Supporting wire’s function is to offer a support. Every 75m use a bolt to fix the supporting wire.

To prevent sensor cable falling down, every 4m-5m fix it with a fixture to lock the sensor cable on supporting wire. The material of the supporting wire should use 2mm stainless steel wire (or replaced with galvanized steel wire).

The installation method as shown in the figure:

Plan B: If the width of conveyor belt over 0.4m, sensor cable can be located at both side of the conveyor belt and connected with ball bearing through heat-conducting plate to detect overheat caused by bearing friction and coal powder accumlation.

Generally design and install principle is on the premise of having no influence with usual operation and maintenance of conveyor belt, and then according to actual situation.

If necessary, such as with a high fire risk, sensor cable can be laid both on the right above and two side of the conveyor belt. The installation method as shown in the figure.

Oil/Gas Tanks

It is to monitor the temperature of Oil/ Gas storage tanks. Fix sensor cable on the body of tanks by magnetic fixture. The Controller should be set in the control room.

Oil/Gas Leakage

Oil and gas are very important for national economy. Once leakage, there will be huge damages and bad social influences. Fire and explosion can be avoided by monitoring oil/ gas pipeline. Optical fiber sensor cable can be used in harsh environment and it is easy to install. So it  is ideal in such areas. The installation diagram is as follows:
